You’ve helped thousands of writers. What’s the biggest misconception new authors have about self-publishing today?

The biggest misconception is that self-publishing doesn’t pay. There are millions who earn very little back, if anything. But most people treat it as a hobby. If you treat it as a business and do the necessary work, your chances of earning significant income jump right up above the masses.

There are hundreds of thousands of indie authors earning enough to pay for overseas holidays. Or buy a fancy TV set. Or eat out at expensive restaurants weekly.

No one knows how many full-time authors there are earning a living solely as an indie author. My guess is something like 10,000.

There’s probably about fifty earning seven figures a year.

Indie publishing can pay. And very nicely.
